CTA En Route for Spacecraft Integration

February 2002: The cryogenic telescope assembly (CTA), the cold portion of the SIRTF observatory, being moved to the truck that will ship it from Ball Aerospace and Technologies Corporation in Boulder, Colorado on February 18, 2002. The CTA, which includes the completed telescope and three science instruments, left Ball Aerospace on schedule for a three-day trip to Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company in Sunnyvale, California. By the end of February, the integration of the CTA and the SIRTF spacecraft will begin.
