Waiting for SIRTF

March 2003:
A Boeing Delta-II launch vehicle stands at Launch Complex 17B of Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. Some of the nine solid rocket boosters that will help launch SIRTF have already been attached, and the rocket sits ready for the attachment of the second stage, which will contain the SIRTF satellite. SIRTF is scheduled for launch at 4:34:07 a.m (ET) on April 15. Launch coverage will be provided by NASA-TV, available on satellite broadcast and some cable systems. The launch will also be Webcast by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
